Learn to Distressed Furniture

I am very excited to announce that I will be hosting classes this spring/summer in my studio.

Do you have pieces of tired and unloved furniture?

Why not update them with a fresh new look?

I am running 1 & 2  day courses to teach you how to paint furniture in the beautiful & desirable 'French Country' / 'Shabby Chic' Style.

Something Old Is Now Something New !!

I have this old dresser I picked up at a garage sale for $20
It's simple enough with nice legs.
I added some paintable wallpaper to the top, sides, and drawer fronts.
Then I painted it with an antique white - semi gloss.

I used my railing in the hall to paint the drawers.

When the paint was dry I painted it again with pewter metallic.

Wiping off the metallic paint in a circular motion.

I made this little side decorative hall table & used crackle, glaze, sanding & wax.

You will spend the day('s) in my studio in the heart of the Ancaster learning furniture painting techniques, including chalk paints, glazing, waxing, distressing, wallpapering and crackling.

Learning to make your own chalk paint, you will work on boards to learn these techniques before applying them to your own small piece of furniture.

You will need to bring a small piece of furniture that you can carry. such as a stool, chair or shelf unit.
The class is designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable day in the beautiful setting the conservation area in Ancaster.
