Excellent 4 sessions on using hand and power tools safely and competently. Pam demonstrates how to use a tool and then has each learner demonstrate hands on use of tool to show safety and competence. Some practical applications for me were - using power drills outdoors on cement/brick to install brackets for hanging flower baskets, mailbox, etc. and indoors for installing drapery rods, shelving etc. - -- using various saws eg. jig saws for cutting out circles, patterns, angles, straight cuts. I need to cut out a round wood table top to replace a broken patio table top.-- mitre saw for cutting floor or ceiling trim or moulding; circular saw for larger wood cutting..... Repairing drywall - patching small and large holes, preparing walls for repainting...using various sanders for finishing. This is just a small sample of what I learned in Pam's classes. Pam is very generous in sharing her knowledge, is very calm and personable. She encourages each of us to learn new skills to gain the confidence to do some some home improvements and repairs.............Ellen Franey4 May 2014 at 19:55
